I Have My Own Room! Ha! Ha!

I have been sharing a room with my younger sister for a while and this week I got my own room. When my Grandmother moved out, (We miss you, Omi) we made her room the study and I moved downstairs. I am really grateful to my mom and dad for helping me move in.

Today we went on a hike to the Crest. We had a great time and we went with some friends. It was, brace yourself,  48 degrees! Which is just about freezing in New Mexico, and it was windy.

They had a wonderful view from way high up. We could see Costo from up there.

I can't remember what we were looking at, but it was fun.

We had lunch right by the edge, no one fell off though. There were some people further up. We called to them as loud as we could. We decided their names were Jimmy, Lisa, Michael, and Carl.

And now I would like you to meet my long-lost cousin: Fred Ingrip Chipmunk!

I know this is really brief, but I will try to blog more soon.

See ya!

Happy Day! Happy Day!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How many of you know of a certain obsession I have with seven books written by someone called J.K. Rowling? If so raise you hand. (I really hope all hands are raised.)

So the Half-Blood Prince came out today. I think it was well worth the wait and was definitely better than a certain well- known vampire romance movie that came out because the movie was not ready. I did not enjoy the book much. End of sentence. Too many explanations and far too little action. I LOVED the movie.

So today our parents surprised us by taking us to the movie, while Laura was off with Ba. It was funnier than all the other movies put together. There would be complete silence or a weird expression and the whole theater would burst into laughter. I found this to be odd because the book had struck me as sort of low-key. So to go and see such a funny movie was a bit of a twist. Sure they cut out 400,164,684,765,942,374,896 scenes and made -one, two, three... Okay, let's just say A LOT of mistakes. I have to congratulate them, to transform at 652 page book (I checked) and make it into a 2 and a half hour long movie is a feat.

In short go see the movie and let me know what you think. (Just get there two hours early and buy tickets online.)

Truce!

Yes, I know that I have not blogged for, well, forever. I'm sorry and hope you will not be angry with me. I have been reading quite a lot and swimming so you can't blame for taking joy in those little matters.

I am sorry this is so short, but my mom and I are starting Little Men tonight and I don't want to miss the beginning.

Thank you and good night.

I Have No Creative Title For this Post

So today we  watched Inkheart. I can't make it any clearer than that. Overall I think it was a pretty good movie and very enjoyable. Though Mom and Peter, who have read the book noticed the mistakes made (which was quite a twist because I am always the one pointing out mistakes).

We are all having a great summer so far! My aunt, uncle, and cousin are coming soon. YES!

Swimming, Biking, and a Sunburn! Life's Good!

Yesterday, while Laura was home sick, the Actons took us to a swimming party! It was a ton of fun and the water was WARM. We all had a great time. I think one of the best parts was the drive home. We had a great time talking with each other. At one point we were trying to convince Sister Acton to let us stay at a hotel. Later we wanted to take a tour of the US and Canada. We drove over a bridge with holes in it, and after we got off it yelled at passing cars that we had lived.

Today we went bike riding for TWO WHOLE HOURS in the rain and sun. It was a lot of fun.

As most of you know I am prone to sunburns. Today I added to my sunburn. Now my skin is RED. Because I can't use a lot of lotions or sunscreens I can't put most things on my skin. So I am enjoying being red. You don't have to pity me, though.

Logging off.

Happy, Happy, Happy, HAPPY!

Ignore my grammar. I can't believe it.

If you have been listening you know that I love a certain book called Skeleton Creek. I am also eagerly awaiting the next book. And guess what! The cover is out!

How is that for an awesome cover?

I still don't know the release date. I think it is either October 1st or September 10th.  Let me tell you now before you go banning this book (sorry if you weren't planning to ban the book) just because this is part of a series with the word "skeleton" in its name does not mean it is a ghost story. It is a great book and I suggest that you read it. Though I do suggest you look at my other post or google the book, because it is not you average book...

I LOVE GIRL'S CAMP!!!! And I'm Not Even 12

My Mom went to girl's camp to lead/help/who knows what- the first years. For those of you who do not know what Girl's Camp is, I'll tell. It is a four day camping trip for girls 12 to 18 (I think). Notice I am not twelve until November. So then why do I love this experience? I get to make lost and lots of desserts and we get to eat them.

I must tell you of a large mistake I made. I was planning to make some cupcakes and a cake. I can't explain it all, but I'll try. The oven was accidentally turned off and only half the cake was baked. The other half was batter. I had pieces of cake and battery crumble. While I was working with the cake the cupcakes sort of burnt. We all liked the treats though. Now you know how desperate we are for desserts.

I have a challenge for you. Read 462 pages in less than one day. I did it. Much to my sleep's dismay, mind you. If you beat that let me know. You'll have bragging rights for forever.
